Books in the UK

Saturday, March 13, 2010

BOOK OF SOULS has spent some time on the Times bestseller list which is gratifying and I've received many lovely messages from LIBRARY OF THE DEAD readers who thought it a worthy sequel.

It's a bit dizzying, but THE TENTH CHAMBER now follows in rapid succession and will be available next week. It's coming out in as my first trade paperback in the UK and will be a mass market paperback in the fall. Will Piper is nowhere to be seen in this book. The hero is a French archaeologist, Luc Simard, who, like all my heroes, is an imperfect man. I hope fans of my first two books take to him too.

I am a proud British fan, and happy to say that your novels have been keeping me from my sleep because I can't resist the urge to read just one more chapter before bed! THE TENTH CHAMBER is yet another richly embroidered historical tapestry with warm and involving characters. I have to tell you that I have not been this excited about discovering an author since finding Stephen King's works as an adolescent!

I have just been given "The Tenth Chamber" as a birthday present and started reading it randomly because it was at the top of the pile. It has ruined my day! It is a fabulously addictive read, and now I don't want to go out!
My daughter is just finishing her Archaeology degree at Cambridge, and is going on to Oxford for her masters this year (her area of excitement is the Paleolithic, and she loves cave art, having been on digs at some of the places you mention). She talks with so much enthusiasm about her lithics and stuff, that I am a little addicted too.
I must go now, I have to read!
Thank you so much, and please keep writing more like it.

I have just started to read The Tenth Chamber and am already enthralled in it. I have read your last two books and was impressed with the storyline and the way in which you draw the reader into the book. Most definitely when someone starts to read your books they are unable to put them down. Thank you for producing such fine works and look forward to reading many more of your masterpieces.
